Kid in France?!

My main sim is a female teen.  I just came back from France and all the sudden, she has a kid!  My teen was never pregnant and she is a TEEN!  I didn't think they could  have kids or any "adult" kind of relationship. Anyone else have this come up?  I did read that some did in Egypt, but this is in France and my Sim is a teen.  The kid seems to be a child.  Thanks!

Unfortunately, glitches don't know what age your sim is and until they come out with a patch to correct this, then I don't take too many females on vacations. I have been looking for the other thread about this topic, but basically, it just happens.  I have ended up with a couple of kids myself and last name even changed without getting married.  So, hopefully, this will be fixed along with the other glitches and bugs.

This is just a nasty bug that needs to be fixed.  I was hoping that maybe it had been taken care of or at least fizzled out a little, but sounds like it's still causing trouble.

I thought for sure this would get fixed with Amitions, but apparently not.  By the way, it can happen to male sims too.  One of the reasons why I try to travel as little as possible.  Currently I'm working on the Wishmaster's Quartet and all the travel is making me nervous!

I have noticed though, all of my sims who have experienced this bug have been single.  My married sims don't seem to have this problem.  I could be wrong, but I personally will be sure to marry my sims off before any traveling!

Hi, I've read about this in another thread on another site, I think, and someone discovered the reason it was happening. Basically when traveling, if one of the foreigners is going to pass away soon and needs to "procreate" in order to populate the town, it will pick the sim with the highest relationship, and create a child. It does not have to be a romantic relationship. Usually it should do this with other foreigner townies, but as you can see its not always the case.

If you look at the other parent of the kid, it should be someone from the place you visited, and probably someone your Sim knew or met at one point.

I think married Sims are exempt because they are already in a relationship and not open to help repopulate the town that way.

So yes, traveling single will be a bit more dangerous!

I haven't heard that theory before.  Interesting, though.  The children that result from this are always in the foreign town as residents, so I guess it's possible.

I've had this issue come up a couple times. My single female sim ends up with a foreign boyfriend and a child, she doesn't know either of them! I had one of my sims travel to meet her foreign family, but the boyfriend is dead, and the child lived with his sister (from another mother). When my sim, and her love child (used a cheat to add him to the family) returned home, the boyfriend was alive, but neither my sim nor her foreign born son could contact him. She ended up with a naughty reputation for having two families! (She had a child out of wedlock in her home town.)

I'm currently playing an adventure seeking sim (LTW for level 3 visas in all 3 locations), and she is single, but I haven't had any problems with foreign families...at least not yet.
