Save my sims 3 marriage

okay so I have to sims that I made and they recently got married and everything was fine. they loved each other and we're always being romantic (hugging,kissing,woohoo, etc. ) so one day the the husband went to the park and met another sim..they kissed and made out and then he went home so he finally confessed to his wife that he had cheated on her..she had just had a baby minutes before. so obviously she was mad but it's gotten out of hand they are constantly yelling would sleep in the same bed together, hate to speak together and  she slapped him. I don't want the marriage to end.

When this happens, try waiting it out (which I think is 5 days?) or, if you have Supernatural, make a witch, level their spell skill to 8 and cast the Sunlight Charm on the other Sim. This results in the other sim forgetting about the incident and can hopefully recify the relationship. Bonus if one of your Sims has the Super Friendly skill challenge finished so your couple's relationship won't degrade during the wait.

During the wait, it may be necessary for either one of your Sims to own a Sleeping Bag or build a new bedroom to the house so they can sleep apart from each other. Also get the Sim that caused the betrayal to break it off with the other Sim involved.

I don't know if you're willing to use cheats, but if you are you can try this:

In-game and while on pause. Press Shift Ctrl C all together to bring up the cheat console. Type in Testingcheatsenabled on.

Shift-click the mailbox, make all happy (Not sure why that needs to be done.) Then go to the relationship panel, and drag the bar over where their both in the green. Relationship should be better now.

Another way of doing this is via a mod called Master Controller

To fix romantic relationships:

Select a Sim, and click on that Sim to change the relationship status.

Click Nraas - MasterController - Intermediate - Long term Relationship By: Category - Active Family. Click Checkmark.

Select a Sim from list. Click Checkmark. Select Relationship type.

Change Active Sim to update status.
