I think anyone uploading to this site is already using the items in their own game. If they were having problems, they probably wouldn't be uploading it here. Things hosted here are by the members themselves created inside The Sims 3. They aren't from some third party site. If we ever did have problems with someone new uploading something nasty, I would change policy to allow only people above a certain number of posts to upload.
I didn't mean anything like that-sorry if that was the impression you got. I am just trying to understand this.  :)

I don't think that is a necessarily fair system. How about if it was accidental, then they will not be allowed to re-upload for a month and, of course, they have to sort the problem. If it is intentional, obviously boot them off the forum so fast and hard that they make another crater in the moon.

There are some items that attach themselves to files that we know nothing about.  I have not downloaded anything from the exchange for a long time.  I would hope that no one would download anything intentionally to the swap shop here and I don't think they would.  Hopefully that doll is gone for now, but there is always something.  Just be careful in where you download items.

Oh, no. I don't mean I've seen it. Just that if it is, would it be on this site?

The likelihood of it being on this site right now is 0%.  But if for some unforetold reason the doll did make a comeback (which in and of itself is highly unlikely), it's possible that we could get it here.  However, all of this is extremely hypothetical.

Free websites that are not maintained for a certain amount of time are usually removed by the host to make room for other sites that are active.  Likewise, it doesn't make sense to pay for web hosting services that you're not using, and when you stop paying for it, any website would likely be deactivated as well.  And even if a site was still up with it's downloads intact, someone would have to delve extremely low in a search to find them.  These sites won't be ranked very high, and people would most likely find something that catches their interest long before they got to them.  And even if they did manage to locate such a site, it might not even have this doll.  So any resurgence depends greatly on a truck-load of "what if's" and "maybe's."

Mathematically speaking, it's possible that this doll is out there...somewhere.  Realistically speaking, the odds of this are so remote that they are not worth worrying about.

It's not 0 percent. For it to be 0 percent, Carl would have to purge "Girldolldressed.simpack" or whatever it's called from the site every time anything is uploaded to the site. I'd say it's 0.1 percent.

The evil doll works by attaching itself to every single file you have so it can spread. Basically, if you download a lot with the evil doll on it and upload a pattern, everyone who downloads the pattern will get the evil doll.

But what Hosfac is saying is that there is no place to possibly download the "virus version" of the doll, as the object was replaced by a working one, and all active Sims Sites have purged their downloads and uploads to get rid of the doll. Since the Swap Shop hasn't been active for a while (and by that, I mean it's quite new to the forum), there is no need for Carl to run through every single little file to check for a .sims3pack file that shouldn't be there. The odds are remote, if anything, that the doll is downloadable. And many users have probably uninstalled the doll, if they have it, and informed the creator of whatever they downloaded the doll from.
