Bookshelf glitch

I play on PS3, started a sim family of 3. When one of them got married, the wife didn't move in automatically which I later found out she actually has 2 teen sons and a toddler daughter (I wish the relationship info is more detailed  ) and therefore I couldn't move them all in nor can I just move the wife in. So my sim begins his distant marriage life and twin boys is born. I tried and successfully got the babies to move in, this somehow glitch the bookshelf which now I can't click on. While I can access the books through the inventory but clicking on a book has no reading to the kid option - anyone else has a similar problem and know a solution? Much appreciated in advance. Moving is going to be my last option.

You can't get rid of it (slegehammer) in build/Buy mode? And just buy a new one? Or you're not able to click on it whatsoever?

I've tried getting a new one, the problem remained and this happened only after I got the babies moved in. I've reloaded and tried couple times before making a new save. My sims can put away books but no menu popped up when I highlighted it.
Just for update, after playing several days with the faulty bookshelf, there are times it works normally. Guess my sims have to live with it till I'm in a moving mood  Of course there's no guarantee this bug wouldn't follow if it's caused by those moved in

A quick note: problem gone after the twins turned child. I suppose if anyone else encountered similar glitch needn't overly fret
