Omni plant opportunity

So, I have a sim who's had a garden for quite a while.  He's at gardening skill 10, is a botanical boss and a master farmer.  But he's never gotten offered the first of the omni plant opportunities.  Is this a random thing, or am I perhaps bugged in some way?

Have you had the egg/cheese plant and the steak/burger patty plant opportunities?

Nope, I've had none of the starter opportunities.  I wish I had, I'd know I was on the right track!  Oh well, I guess I'll just keep hoping.

Sometimes it just takes longer to start getting that series of opportunities.  Many times, my Sim was well into level 10 for a long time before he got the first one.  Also, make sure that slot on the opportunities tab is empty.  If you've got another opportunity in the skills slot, it won't come until that slot is cleared.

D'oh!  Of course, that makes perfect sense.  He'd been hanging on to a "deliever book to France" opportunity that was around for a while.  Ok, I cleared that, let's see if that helps any.  Thanks, Pam!
