Origin AKA EADM Is Very Slow

Okay, recently, my EA download manager 'updated' itself, and it's now called "Origin". However, this is much slower at updating my game than the EADM. Ridiculously so. Any advice?

I would advise you to either contact EA, or Patch Manually. It's fast and easy - all you do is bypass EADM. I haven't had EADM installed for quite a while now (Since TS3 came out!) and I patch manually. My game has next to no issues, except the patch bugs. Here is a thread about it.

After forty minutes, it is finally finished. I only patch if I have a serious game bug, so hopefully I will not have to do that again. Sigh.

Note that the last patch for the base game (1.22) "weights" more than 600 Mb. It takes a huge amount of time, whether manually or through Origin. So the slowness here is not software related but just a matter of how fast your internet connection is, and how crowded is the network at the moment you try to download.
 
After several unsuccessful try, I had to take advantage of an insomnia to download the thing at 3 am :-) And it took more or less 40 minutes too.
