Name him Boo Radley  ;D

I love it. He should be accused of killing his parents after they die, but then come to the rescue of two kids in the middle of the night.

As for the fishing.....I recently discovered, that it doesn't really seem to matter whether or not you use bait. (with the exception of fishing for the deathfish) Once my sims got up to a level 10 in fishing, they were still able to catch "perfect" fish even with just using the lure. So when I found that out, I thought, "Hey that's much easier...I'll just let them use the lure and not worry about the bait" and it has worked out just fine for me.

RockinRobin,

I think they might catch more fish with bait.  Plus, the bait will help you get a particular fish that you want.  The lure will just be random.

I actually thought of that. But I realized that they'd need to go to school, which would be a problem.

Just do that for the difficult years like just baby and toddler, then make the door appear let it out to join its real parents.

If you have WA do you have to direct a sim to go through a secret door or will it go through it on its own? You could make another chamber for your founder to meet her secret lover underneath while her husband and his girlfriend are still on the lot!  ;D

Yikes!!  :o Mole people!  :-X
Didn't know about the kids not having to go to school anymore (never really play families long enough to find out)  :P  In TS2 the Social Worker would come and take them away!  :-\

No doors. :P Social Worker can't do jack!

sam: That's not an awful idea, but I still prefer the idea of them being a bit like a time capsule. I might just get the steampunk package and make them all steampunk-like. That'd be sick.

This is a good inspiration for a challenge.  To see which 5 traits would be most beneficial for sims to survive happily in a locked basement!

I just started playing this family again. I was playing my single sim who was exploring World Adventures for me.

Anyways, my basement wife just had the wish to stay indoors for 48 hours for 2,500 happiness points. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I forgot about those wishes. It's the Loner trait that fires those, right? I think I've only given one challenge character the loner trait — a painter — so, it's been a long time since I've seen that wish. Yeah, easy points for sure.

No,I believe "Stay indoors for 48 hours" is a Hates The Outdoors wish.  I haven't ever seen any of my loner people ever get that wish.[/quote]

Ohhh, right! It was the Maximum Moodlets Challenge where you had to have a couple with totally opposite traits somehow hit it off. And Loves the Outdoors Vs. Hates the Outdoors was one opposing pair. Now, I remember. Yeah, my husband went into politics and my wife character had that trait and stayed inside and sometimes got that wish.

Yeah, the basement couple don't have loner, they have hates the outdoors.

That's so funny. What happens if the basement family dies.

When the Social Worker took my kids (TS2) she didn't use the door  :o...the crib was on the second floor and she just teleported to a ledge outside of the nursery and somehow sucked the baby through the wall and teleported back to the ground. 8)  So doors didn't seem to be an issue, not sure how powerful the Social Workers are in TS3.  :P

I'm really interested about this.  Hilarious!  Let us know if the kids can skip school.

Kids can definitely skip school.  The worst that happens is that you don't get to choose a trait when they age up because their grades are bad.
