Moving Sims to an external Hard Drive question
« on: June 16, 2011, 05:57:56 AM »
I may be getting an External Hard Drive for my birthday (not a Laptop as I originally hoped. I'll also call an External Hard Drive an "EHD" from now on). If I want to move all of my Sims stuff onto the EHD, can I simply copy and paste everything there or do I have to uninstall and reinstall everything?

(Now that I think about it, it's probably the latter.)

I did this to move my sims games from one computer to another.
All you need to do is copy the Electronics Art folder, and paste it. Nice and simple!

Edit: Wait, sorry, I may have misread the question. What I answered to is how to move stuff onto the EHD as a backup or when moving it to another computer.
Are you intending to play it from the external hard drive? If so, the answer may be different - I've never tried it.
Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, I just realised that I missed that crucial bit of information. Sorry. :-[
I'd like to be able to play the game, I don't want to just Back it Up.
