Launcher Glitch!

Since installing the Generations expansion pack, my laucher has become rather... uncooperative, or unrunny (but I'm not sure if that's a real word, well, maybe it is for fried eggs ) .

Except, this is weirder than just that. After I install it, it runs the first time. Then, as long as I haven't logged off, it still runs. The launcher only becomes bugged after I've logged out or shut down and it just doesn't work after that.

The game itself works perfectly and is really fun, which really just adds insult to injury.

Check to see that the launcher is not already minimized in your tray bar. I was having problems also but then I saw the icon on my tray and double clicked it.

I'm afraid it isn't that, but great suggestion! When I click the big play button, nothing happens. I've even left it for looooong periods of time (2 hours!), and it just does not work.

Umm, wow, it is actually working! I have no idea how or why, but, awesome sauce! Perhaps it is the patch I installed, although I did at first recieve the error as per usual. If it goes flop again, I'll let everyone know!  ...But I'll be optimistic!

I play on a computer that is not connected to the internet, the Generations launcher (unlike the other EP launchers) did NOT work at all in my case. As far as I know, it is looking for an online connection, perhaps that is why it is working while you are online. Anyway, this is what I did and I had no more problems in launching, I opened the Sims 3 generations folder and copied the launch .exe file there - copied it to the desktop (it's the one with the EP4 in its filename). Thank God! Now I can open and play the game without fail. Good Luck!

I had this problem when I installed The sims 3 world adventures. I just looked on the internet, found that other people had the same problem and that they had to delete a file, so I deleted a file (sorry can't remember which one) and the launcher worked from then on.

My son has the same issue.  The only way he can play his game is if he is connected to the internet.  Which I am not crazy about, too many things he can get into, I like to know when he is "surfing".  I will have to try your suggestions.  Thanks for posting.

Mine works just fine without internet (I have a "dongle" AKA a USB). The only thing it needed was the patch. :O Perhaps you should double, triple check?
