I fired my butler and got a new one. She taught my sim to drive then he went home without her. She never came back! Every week I get a pop-up saying "I'll be collecting my 1,200$ now" but she is never there. Also, I will try to invite her over but she says she is working and doesn't know when she'll be done.
SO I went to services and tried to stop it but it said I have to fire them in person. She doesn't live anywhere on the map. How am I supposed to fire her?

You can edit your butler with CAS. Change their traits if you're not happy with them. I usually go in and change their looks, age...and sometimes sex.

If you never tried this before, wait till they goto sleep or ask them to join you in the swimming pool or hot tub when you attempt to change them.

Doesn't that made the butler be part of your family?

Nope. The butler will still be your butler. As long as you don't select the "Add to active family" the butler will stay as your butler.

Hi rockcc12: I clicked on the bed for the butler "unmake as butler....bed". Then I went and hired a new one who wasn't as efficient.

That is just awesome! To bad you can't make him learn skills, otherwise he could improve himself even more.

I befriend my butlers and everyone that joins my families by tutoring them in skills. It's a lot easier then standing there and constantly clicking options just to carry on a conversation to work up the relationship. I also ask them to join my sims in jam sessions. Their skills actually goes up.

Most of the butlers have become such good friends with my sims, I've added them to the families. After they join, I look at their skills and see some maxed at guitar, drums etc from jamming with my sims when they were butlers.

Everyone are best friends with everyone and maxed in many skills in all my households just from tutoring each other.

Yes, tutoring is awesome. Thanks for the tip. I didn't know it was that simple actually. Do butlers use their skills on their own after you have learned them? I mean, if I tutor my butler in gardening, will he or she do the garden on his/her own?

Hmm, I'm actually not sure if they do. I haven't witness it with any of my butlers but that doesn't mean they don't. I usually try to have my sims interact with my butler as if he/she is part of the family. Some are even in the band and we all go out together and perform. Half the times i keep them busy, the other half when they aren't doing anything with my sims, they go cook, look for things to clean, maybe read a book or sit on the couch waiting for something to do.

They do seem very well manor and behave appropriately when there's nothing to do around the house. One could always change their trait to find out. Maybe give them "Party Animal" and see if they behave like a baby-sitter as oppose to a butler and see what happens?
