Forum URL Links
« on: July 15, 2012, 09:27:16 AM »
I was linking my URL of my prologue from my story to the top post, but I realised you don't need the [\url] so this is the code I used. Can you please fix this?
Code: [Select]
Prolouge

Oh and when I was trying to put the [\code] in I did not need it
{my blog to come soon}

Are you sure you don't need the ? I don't see a link anywhere except your signature.  ???

I don't see what the problem is. Either way it works, however any code inside the CODE code doesn't work. You don't have to put the at the end but it's best to, as that identifies an end to the section of code, without that it will include everything after it till the end of the post and make it a link. So it's best to just use the normal method as all you do is click the URL button in the Post and paste the link, much easier.

Other than that I don't see what you are asking.

The way the code works is when you want something specialized you have to put in a code in the front and then you need to close the code before writing anything else.    Because you're not using or
that means if you had kept typing it would have continued to show everything has a URL that went to that one link or kept going in the code box until you closed it.

So as it stands right now with your Dynasty thread - if you do another chapter and try to include the url, it's link won't work because you never closed the first link.

Here is an example:
Code: [Select]
This is me inputting a code example with a closed end
Code: [Select]
This is me inputting a code example without a closed code.

So means this sentence which I didn't want is still in the code box even though I don't want it to be there because the command was never given to close the box.

I am now closing the box

Another example for URL links:

Artie's dynasty This link has the /url box at the end
Dreamers
Lilac's Legacy

I didn't close the link on the Dreamers link and now all you can see is the url associated with that link.

You have to close the code.  It's just how it is or you'll have problems later and that includes being in chapter links for your dynasty.
