Generations EP Can't write thank you notes?

Hello people.  I have a couple who got married, received gifts and clicking on the mailbox the write thank you notes option is grayed out.  I looked and couldn't find any other topic with this particular problem.

I've tried deleting the temp package files, reloading the game, restarting the computer.  It's been that way for a week or more of game time.

Has anyone heard of this? Is there a cure?

Do you have any unoccupied desks or tables? If you do, maybe the game isn't recognizing them or something. Try setting up another desk and chair and try again.

Well Duh.  Thanks, that was it, there was no table and no desk, so no place to write.  Thanks for your help, that did it!

Haha, the same thing happened to me when I tried to write Thank You notes the first time! Glad to know I'm not the only one.
