How to get into Edit in Game?

I've just finished the basics of a world I want to create. You know, put down the lots, streets, painted the terrain. But whenever I press the "Edit in Game" button it brings me to the launcher, without further explanation. I've even went so far as to loading the game to the main menu and clicking the options button, but it has no option to edit a world. Can someone explain to me how to get to edit in game??

Do you have Generations? I guess not. There has been a bug in CAW since the release of this EP and the related base game patch (1.22). The patch changed the path to the game .exe. And the latest CAW version doesn't acknowledge this new path for players without the EP.

Right now, I don't think there is anything you can do to access EIG, but wait for an updated CAW. There is a SP coming at the end of this month. EA will probably release a bunch of new patches, and with them a new CAW. This is our best hope

Just click play. Sometimes you have to uninstall and then reinstall CAW, best of luck.
