My sim won't cook

my sim who working just fine will no longer cook anything. She just leaves it there for me to throw away. I have tried re setting my sim but that doesn't work. any thoughts?

Have you tried restarting your game?

What do you mean she leaves it there for you to throw away?  Like the half cooked bowls or the cutting board?   Have you tried to figure out if something is blocking the stove/microwave or if they are in need of being replaced because of an event?


Also: I've noticed that if I throw plates and stuff away - there is a very high probability of getting the bug where you can't find the trash that is making your Sims upset so I always make them do it now.

Does your sim have the absent minded trait? Those type of sims will randomly cancel out an interaction sometimes.
Or is something distracting her, like a stereo or somebody playing guitarSims wil occasionally drop whatever their doing to listen to a guitarist.
If that doesn't help, try buying a new stove or microwave.

Have you got any gnomes in the house? Sometimes if there's a gnome in front of the oven, the sims can't get to it and can't cook.

I agree that there might be something blocking her way.  I had put a shelf above one of the cabinets in the kitchen and didn't even think about it.  When my sim went to cook, they would mix whatever it was they were cooking and then set it down.  I put the walls up and finally realized, that the shelf might be the problem.  I took it off of the wall and she was able to cook after that.  So check for anything on the walls or rearrange your kitchen, which I have had to do also.
