Multiple Families in One Game
« on: May 31, 2011, 03:33:14 PM »
This is probably a dumb question, but I couldn't find the answer online in the various guides.  I haven't played Sims 2 in forever and just got Sims 3.  But if I recall correctly, I could create one family in Sims 2 and move them into a lot, then create another family and move them in next door.  I couldn't play both families at the same time, but sims from the first family could happen across sims from the second family while they were out, or they'd walk by.  Can you do that in Sims 3?  Every time I tried to create a new family, it seemed like it was starting a whole new town.  Like I said, I just started playing it last night and tried looking around online for this info, but couldn't find it.

Thanks so much!

You can add as many families as you like. Just go into town edit, go to create a sim and when you're done you can place that family where you like. All you have to do then is return to your game. If you want to play the new family you'll have to switch to the different family while in edit.

Awesome, thanks!  I never would have figured that out on my own.  Duh.
