Strange problem when I insert the disc
« on: May 25, 2011, 01:08:43 AM »
Okay Y'all, I'm having a weird problem.

When I insert my Sims Medieval disc, the game prompts me, almost immediatly with the popup:
Do you want to completely unistall the selected application and all it's features?
Yes     No

I know for a fact that this is the Medieval Uninstall window, due to the fact that a Medieval screenshot comes up before the popup.

This isn't a major problem for me, just an annoyance. Can anyone explain this? The closest thing to a mod I have is TestingCheats enabled.

When you select No, are you able to continue with the loading with no problem?

I have a variation of this.  Every time I install my Sims Medieval disc, I get a pop-up inviting me to install the game.  It obviously doesn't recognize that the game is already installed for some reason.

I have the same problem too, but then it finally starts and I don't have a problem with playing the game, but, yes, it is still annoying.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

The only thing I can really suggest is to reinstall the game if it's too annoying.

I can continue with no problem after selecting No.
The only thing I'm worried about is if I accidentally hit "Yes" one day. I'm known to do silly things like that by mistake.

When was the last time you reinstalled the game, Seabody?

Never. I don't play it as much as TS3, and I haven't had it for long. Probably about... 1 month?

I had a similar issue when I was trying to install all my sims 1 games again. I'd get to a certain point, have issues, have to uninstall them and start again, only it thought one of them was still on there and wouldn't reinstall. I had to get a registry sweeper. Reinstall sounds like the way to go.
