Bard Quest Question

I am doing my first quest with the bard, and seem to be stuck. It's been several days, and no new quest "jobs" have come up. There is just one that asks "What will Troubador Carie decide to experience next?".
She has already experienced drunkeness, gorging on food, and starvation.
I've had her have a baby, make an enemy, perform plays poems and oute songs.. what else is there for her to do?
She has the "whale" trait.. does this mean she needs to go whale hunting??  I'm stuck.....It also says I am dangerously behind on this quest....

When it asks "what to experience next?", it should be offering you a choice.  I think you should be seeing an orange-y circle with a question mark, right?  If you click on that it will offer you two options to choose from.

I do click on it - there is nothing..... I've hovered over it, nothing. I've clicked, nothing. I've double clicked..nothing. So Frustrating.

I had the same thing happen in the last quest I tried with the Dr. and the Merchant (the plague). At one point, the question mark showed up, and there were no options given.

Could it be another bug in the game? I don't see how, as other people have managed to complete the quest.

It's possible your game is bugged.  I know I've done this quest a couple of times with no problem.  I'm not sure what the last step was that you completed, but I know that after starving your bard has to write a poem, read it to the critic, take a voyage on the shop, and eat mouldy bread.  Have you done any of those?  What if you click on the ship - is there an option to take a voyage?

Nope - no option there. I decided to quit the quest and try another one.

I started the Missing Boy quest using my Peteran Priest. The second quest task I received was another question mark with "How should the quest party proceed?". Again - no options given when I clickon the question mark.

I've had these before with other characters and other quests and not had problems... ..I dont' know what to do now...

That's very strange, Ladykat.  I have no idea what the problem might be.  I don't know how long you've been struggling with this, but have you tried quitting the game and restarting?  That fixes a lot of problems and is worth trying.

If that doesn't work, I don't know what else to suggest other than to start a new game.  Maybe someone else will have some ideas.

I found the answer on another board. It is from the EA Forums, and the member who posted this is mzneko-nz. It fixed the problem.....
Here is what he/she said:

Clear the game caches and try again ....

C:/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims Medieval

Delete these 3 cache files:

CASPartCache.package
compositorCache.package
simCompositorCache.package

The game will recreate them when you load it again - remember to let the start go through the cut scene, don't skip it.
