Sim - Mr Payne - Elder Male
« on: May 07, 2011, 08:50:49 PM »
Mr Payne is an Elder with the following traits:  Friendly, Charismatic, Good Sense of Humour, Family Oriented and Good.  He first appeared in my story Riches Galore where he played a lawyer with a very special mission.

Mr Payne's LTW is to be Super Popular.  His raison d'etre is to help other Sims.  His content is all Base Game.

Edit:  Since Mr Payne's arrival in the Swap Shop, he has appeared in other stories of mine, including It Happened One Christmas, The Flowers Waiting for Grim, The GO Treatment Centre, Mission Highly Unlikely, and The Name's Oliver - Ben Oliver.  Links to all my stories can be found in my signature.  He has also appeared in Audren's story Forum Sims Grab Bag, here:  Forum Sims Grab Bag.  He has also made guest appearances in other forum stories.

I can't wait to use Mr. Payne! I am in the process of writing the beginning of my orphanage story now. :)
The next time you look into the mirror, just look at the way the ears rest next to the head; look at the way the hairline grows;
 think of all the little bones in your wrist. It is a miracle. And the dance is a celebration of that miracle. *Martha Graham*

Schipperke, if you don't mind me asking, what is Mr Payne's first name? Is it Mr?

Yeah, he's a formal kind of guy.  Nobody knows his first name!  Actually, when I first created him, he was just meant to appear once only at the beginning of the story so I didn't bother giving him a first name.  But I actually think the lack of a first name suits him - helps to make him a bit different from the everyday Sim, in keeping with his role in my story.

In fact, I'm making a story centered entirely around him and Max Skills. Whether it'll be part of the Orphanage Project or not, I'm not sure. I have a tie-in, but I wonder if it'll work.  :-\

@Anyone who knows
Is Mr. Payne a Sim in the Sim Bin, or a household in the Family Bin?
I just downloaded him. (:D)

EDIT: Schip, he seems a little different in the picture above than he does in Riches Galore. I can't put my finger on it, but something about him seems different.

Seabody, that's one of the pictures I took while I was playing the Riches Galore story.  Are you saying he looks different in some way?  Maybe it's the camera angle.  Could it be that his sideburns weren't as obvious in the other pictures?  I don't know what else it might be, but if you figure out what it is that seems different, let me know.

As for where to find him, obviously I haven't downloaded Mr Payne, but Max Skills showed up as a household in the Family Bin, so I would expect Mr Payne to be there as well.

I checked. He's in the Sim Bin in CAS.

EDIT: I think it's because I see him in a different light. I saw him one way while I was reading Riches Galore, but at the end, when you told us who he really was, I saw him in a totally different light. Like, I saw him as an old lawyer who knew more than he was letting on, a man who had been places, and done things nobody else would've, but when you revealed who he really was, I saw him as an old man from *****. (Just in case anyone who hasn't read Riches Galore is reading this. I don't want to spoil the story for them.)

I think the reason for downloaded Sims showing up in the Pre-Made Sims Bin in CAS or the Families Bin in Edit Town is a direct result of the creator/player saving the Sim as a Sim in CAS or as a family/household from Edit Town, respectively. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
