I removed the washer and dryer from my  homes and that way they don't have dirty piles around, they just change clothes. Kind of like taking the clothes to the Dry Cleaner.

I considered this at first, but the "laundry bug" is more of a minor annoyance than an outroight frustration. The moodlets they get from wearing clean clothes and having clean bedsheets are really nice bonuses.

But if they dance and have a nicely furnished house, they don't need clean clothes moodlets. Personally I HATE doing laundry! Came from a family of 10, we had no dryer and had to hang everything. Taught my kids to do their own laundry at a very early age. I get a moodlet from NOT doing laundry!

Laundry is a bit goofy.  When they get temporary pathing issues (a sim using the stairs before them) they'll drop the cued action entirely.  This is one of the many reasons I like Neat sims.  If you tell them to clean the house, when they get a pathing issue like that, they'll eventually get back to it.

I don't often end up with piles of wet clothes on the floor, so I wonder if you've created a pathing issue for them?  How big is your laundry room?

My laundry room is in the garage and the sim that is suppose to use that spot seems to like to keep his car in his inventory so I have a real big laundry room. The other 5 cars for the household are parked on the roof and they never fail to park they're cars.

But I've resolved the problem by adding a second dryer that was suggested earlier in the thread. But I guess it could still happen again if 3 sims decide to move the laundry at the same time although I've only see 2 go at once. But with a house full of sims with the neat trait who knows.
It's not something that happened often and if I just ignored it one of the sims would get around to picking it up when they get the laundry from the dryer.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.

I'm having laundry issues too. I'm playing the boarding challenge (PM me for link) and my sim's boarders are always doing laundry, when the hamper is only 1/3 of the way full. It was really difficult to do the laundry with the main sim when both the washer and dryer were running at the same time. Then, my sim has to clean their clothes up at night, put it in the hamper, but it never got more than 1/2 full since the household kept randomly doing laundry. One boarder even had the eco-friendly trait, yet they were doing laundry three times a day. Sims are really dumb sometimes.
