Mining bounty and location
« on: May 01, 2011, 12:25:25 PM »
Hello again folks, I have had such luck getting good answers here so far I figured I should ask another i have been wondering.

I have spent the last 3 days (in real time) trying to mine for woohooium but to no avail.  I keep drilling in the same place in my front yard and it seems like I am finding less and less... especially when exploring intersecting tunnels.

So my question is three-fold
1.  Does it matter where you drill?
2.  Can you deplete an area.
3.  Can you find woohooium in intersecting tunnels or only in the major drilling opperation?

Oh and I gues a fourth... can you find woohooium by breaking space rocks?

Thanks in advance,
Randy

I don't know about the tunnels and mining but I have found woohooium at the consignment shop once or twice. I'm pretty sure it can't be found through breaking space rocks because woohooium is a metal and space rocks produce gems.

1. Doesn't matter where that I've ever noticed, rabbit hole lots, parks, wherever you put it it seems to pull the same type of things.

2. I've made about 20 tunnels on one lot, so I'm gonna say, nope, no depleting.

3. You find minerals before the tunnel is finished so I think you can finding anything on the random table out of any miner dig.  If you mean finding it by walking through tunnels after they're done, I don't think so, but I haven't used them enough in that way to be sure.

4. Don't know, sorry, don't have WA installed yet ;)

Have fun, happy Simming

You can get Woohooium "easier" if you have WA. The answer is one: transfiguration. There is a lengthy topic about finding it that includes the transfiguration recipe here. ;)
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

1.  It doesn't seem to matter, no.
2.  You do finish a hole after a while, so that exact location is effectively depleted while the hole exists.  However, you can fill the hole in and if you drill on the exact location, you'll continue to find things as you would if you had never drilled there.
3.  I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this.  Once a hole is "complete, it's effectively connected to any other hole you have drilled.  To travel between them, all you have to do is name the tunnels.
4.  You do not find any metals while breaking space rocks.  Just gems.  However, in addition to transfiguration (as mentioned by Chronic), you do find a lot of Woohooium by sculpting in stone.  Make sure your sculptor does not have the "Savvy Sculptor" trait, however, or they won't break statues while sculpting.  It's really your best bet for finding it without transfiguration.
