Random Way to Tell Special/Rare seeds

If you just have a spare one in your inventory, just one though, go fishing and look at the bait section. Normally if you know all the baiting for all the fish it will say what the quality of the seed is and what it catches (ergo vampire fish would imply garlic was the plant.)

But this would only be useful for highly skilled fishermen who have read all the bait books, and haven't done any gardening past level 5 (for uncommon seeds). But great find though! I'm sure someone will find this useful!

What do you mean by make a photo of the plant? Do you mean like after you have planted the seed?

Yes, after planting. And it's good (like when making all other photos) that no other photo-topic is near the plant.

You can often narrow it down with Special Seeds, You can tell if it is a tree from the sprout - so it will be a money tree. If there is a stick it will either be a Death or Life Plant. If there is nothing and then a bush starts to grow it will be Flame Fruit. Thats how I recognise them.

Money Tree and Death Flower seeds are worth §0 if you try to sell them. If a special seed has any value it must be Flame Fruit or Life Fruit.

Money Tree seeds are also more gold in color.  It's easier to tell if you have other seeds next to one for comparison.

You can use the bait chooser to identify unknown seeds even if you don't know the bait for any fish. If you have both a fruit and a seed for that fruit in your inventory, only the seed will show up in the bait chooser. For example, if you have an apple and an apple seed, you should only see the apple seed on the list. So if you have both a lime and an unknown uncommon seed, and only the seed shows up in the bait chooser, that seed must be a lime seed.
