"Can Salute" Trait
« on: April 30, 2011, 11:19:13 AM »
I'm planning for Marc Brandt and Amy Bull to have a child. Marc is a Flight Officer right now, but I want him to quit his job. If Amy has a child after he quits, will it have the Can Salute trait?

I really don't know for sure. Every source I've found by Googling your question says that "it is gained after reaching a certain level in the career", but no one says the exact level. If I were you, I'll let them quickly have kids, and only after that quit his job.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

They get it at roundabout level 5 or 6 in the career. I have a sim who's at level 6 and has it.

I'm pretty sure that once he has the hidden trait, Marc will keep it for life. I've got a Sim who topped Military, moved to Science and still has the Can Salute ability. If I were you, I'd check for the option after each promotion and quit as soon as he gets it, that way he'll be able to pass it onto his kids.  :)
