Ok, i am going to describe the situation as best as i can, so please bear with me:
I am working on a dynasty of my family (in Riverview), and my 6th generation sim had just become a child. i gave her a makeover, and then saved my game without issues. i loaded the game again a few weeks later, and the game came up, i did what i wanted, saved and closed it after the 6th generation became a teen. the next day, i loaded my saved game and i saw that two of the sims in my family became unresponsive. I couldn't select them from the left of the screen (thumbnails) and their pictures didn't show up, just a blank green square with their name. The sims did not disappear because i could see them in the house, but they were stuck doing a certain task. i tried the "resetsim" code, but nothing happened.
So, i looked around the net to see how i could fix it, and i tried the following:
- I moved out the sims and moved them back in in Edit Town: nothing changed
- i moved the two unresponsive sims out and into another house and switched my active household. the unresponsive sim household did not respond, and the two sims even disappeared.
- I loaded a backup of my game, (from when the 6th generation sim had just become a child) and started from there. There was no issue, so i continued to play the game until my 6th gen sim became a young adult (i used a birthday cake to age her up), i saved and quit. I loaded it again and the same thing happened, with the same two sims!
- I saved my family to the bin and moved to a completely new neighborhood (Sunset Valley), and i thought i fixed the problem. I continued to play in that town, and my 6th gen sim got married to a townie. i saved and quit the game in a new file and i loaded that game later in the day. THIS time, ALL except one sim (the newest addition) became stuck.
So, it seems to me, that the problem occurs after I load my dynasty from a save. the only issue i found is that i have to save the family and move it to a new neighborhood EVERY time i load it (which I really do not want to do) HAs this happened with anyone else? how can i fix this issue without switching neighborhoods?! Please help me!
