Viewing Lot Size / Close up view of estate when purchasing

Hello, is there another way for me to have an actual close up view of a Lot when I'm scouting for a new home other than going to edit town or physically going to the Lot ?
All I'm getting is the view from map view, which doesn't say much other than the nice beautiful surroundings I am near .

Sometimes I've seen a magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the image of the house while in Map View.  This lets you look at the house.  However, I'm not sure if it always shows up when you're trying to purchase a house.

I've seen that magnifying glass before but you can only see it when you begin a new game or go into edit town mode. Also if when you start a new game or when your in edit town mode you can go into the lot in buy mode and change it up before you buy it.

Warning:Adding new objects increases the price of the lot while removing them lowers it.
