How do I get a cask of wine for the elder hunter?   

What you need to do is serve a drink to the elder hunter.  What I did was have my sim go to the tavern and get himself a drink.  When your sim is sitting with the drink, click on the elder hunter and Call Over.  The elder hunter will come to the tavern and you can serve him a drink from the cask there.

If I remember te quest correctly, you should be able to click on the cask next to his tent and select 'serve drink'.

Absolutely correct Kai.  The cask is right there next to his tent.  Don't forget later on to search that tent for clues and loot.

The hunter does move around.  When I had this quest he was actually at the castle and the cask was next door in the reception area.  I tried to transport a jug of wine to him but it didn't work.  I ended up buying a cask just so I could serve him on the spot.
