Firehouse
« on: April 15, 2011, 04:53:09 PM »
I decided to try out the fireman career path. Everything started out terrific. My fireman was at level 2 and was getting an A/B grade from every fire emergency. My problem began when I noticed that my firehouse was not facing correctly on the lot. I went into edit town and turned the front of the building to face the street. When I clicked to accept the change, a box popped up that said that certain items would have to be deleted to make the change. I accepted and when I went back into the game the firetruck and the 2 other fire vehicles were gone. My Sim was now unemployed and the option to join the fireman career is gone. I went back to edit town and discovered that the lot type had changed to "no visitors allowed" and so I changed it back to "firehouse". I went back into my game the fire vehicles are still not there. For some odd reason the lot type keeps changing itself to "no visitors allowed" on it's own. I have been into buy/build mode a thousand times with Cheats turned on and off. I have even searched "buydebug". Nothing has fixed this issue. I have several "save as" copies since I have been trying to solve this problem. I have run out of ideas. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to turn the building back around. It looks stupid for the driveway of the building to be facing in a direction on the lot with no street access. Thank you to anybody who may be able to help.

Have you tried to bulldoze the building and place a fresh copy of the fire house?

OK - After pulling out most of my hair, stomping my feet, and shaking my fists in the air, my "Sim like" tantrum has ended. The urge to stomp my game disc into a million pieces has passed and I finally sent up my flag of defeat and bulldozed the stupid firehouse - lol. I had to move it to a new lot as well. It was not going to work on that lot no matter what I tried and believe me, I spent a lot of time trying to problem solve this one out. The building is setting properly now, and my fireman is off to another great start in his career.

Thanks gerrr00 for your help and for replying!
