For Carl and his guide. You mention selling at the stall as being of more or less no real interest for a blacksmith. I'd disagree - you get not just a nice profit by selling from the stall, you also get +150 EXP per sale, just like the merchant.
With the "Eloquent" trait I can usually sell in just 3 actions:
(a) Butter Up (usually green)
(b) Hustle (usually green)
(c) Convince to Buy (green by then)
As the smith's house is usually crowded (at least mine is) you can convince the people inside to buy the stuff you just crafted - sole problem is the "pathfinding" bug with the X'ed Thoughtbubble and the footprints which can be a tad annoying in the cramped confined of the smith's stall.
Still - especially at the early stages of, er, smithood I usually craft crude plate mail (done in seconds) and sell for 200+ at the stall with just 3 interactions + the 150 EXP.
