Cutting Edge, I'm stuck

I'm down to the part where the Peteran has to blend the unfinished legendary sword, azurite and blessed water to make a catalyst for the blacksmith.  It says to do it in a "fireplace cauldron".  I've tried clicking on a variety of cauldrons in a variety of fireplaces and all I got was "make food" or "warm hands".  My Peteran is in top notch shape, all rested, great night's sleep, great food, no nasty buffs.  I"ve tried clicking on her, on the stuff in her inventory, and as I said, on a variety of cauldrons.  Anyone have a clue what to do next?  Where do I find the cauldron or how do I use an existing one?  Is it something I have to buy?

I got stuck on the exact same thing! Until my Priest got hungry, he was a glutton. I wanted him to make some good soup and needed to know what his Kid should buy at the Shoppe when I saw a new recipe available. So I found the Catalyst as a food recipe with a picture of a bottle with all the soups and stews. Even in the basic fire he got with the Monastery.

Yes, that's the one.  It had us puzzled too, but the answer is indeed in the "Make Food" recipe list.

So the "recipe" is there when you have them make food?  Or do you buy the recipe at the store?  No matter, I'll check it out.  I fed my priest from stuff already made so that's why I didn't see it.  Thanks so much you guys.

It gets unlocked by the quest but I don't think it stays after you finish it.

After the quest it shows up when the blacksmith chooses "Make Food" in the fireplace with the ingredients in his inventory.

The Recipe for the catalyst stays and can still be made however the Superior Alloy Recipe for the blacksmith disappears! That means you have  the ability to make these super fabulous swords and no Superior Alloy which is a key ingredient. 
Hope the next patch will fix this issue.
Should anyone come across this quest stock up on Superior Alloy and catalyst during this quest!
