How can I get my death fish spawners to work?

I've put quite a few deathfish spawners on my lot for a while. I don't have any water features (ponds, pools etc) - could that be why none have turned up? Thanks :)

I would have to say that's one of the likely causes, since you do have to fish them.  Plus, when you use spawners, they will only show up between midnight and 5am.

I'm sorry...  I just have to ask...  how did you plan to get the Deathfish if you don't have ponds for them to live in?

You don't have a pond? Just createa tiny one (from build mode) and wait till midnight. They should show up then. You can try pools if you want, but only Sims with the Insane and Childish traits can fish there. I know they look cool. :)
