What are your favourite Traits?
« on: December 04, 2009, 07:29:13 PM »
In Sims 3 we all love giving our Sims traits, whether they are silly, good for their career or just plain weird. I like the Insane trait, Couch Potato and heaps more (I love couch potato because it sounds funny).
Also add combinations of traits that are funny or good for your Sims.
Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere. Bye my Simmy friends!

When I write Lifetime Wish articles for Carl's site, I always have a utility Sim to take care of household things like cooking, cleaning, raising children, etc. so that the star Sim can focus on the Lifetime Wish and be in the best moods to accomplish it.  My utility Sim is almost always a Natural Cook, Green Thumb, Angler, Handy, and Neat.  I like these traits because they are calming.  Hehe.  One of my favorite things is to take my Sim to a remote pond to fish for a day, or spend time in the garden with the radio playing.

Thats a great idea, having a sim to take care of everything while your star sim can chill out and be the best of all time! I think they should add a lifetime wish for neat sims to clean the house everyday for a week! That would be funny, but i would never be able to fullfill that wish :) Thats a really good idea, ill do that when i get the whole game for myself. I could make them eat Amberosia to keep them alive forever so they can meet millions of generations. (not in the legacy challenge though, i know you cant eat it untill you finish)
Great idea Pam! I love your idea's! :)

Ive discovered (reading posts) that the Over Emotional trait can give a very big bonus to everything your sim does. One of my sims in my legacy got this trait and after a little testing i very much agree with them! It boosts up everything, but if they arent happy i feel like drowing them. :)

My writer: Bookworm (duh), coach potatoe, over emotional, perfectionist, loner.

Which I just realized is identical to what Carl made for his in the "Centurion Challenge", and no I made this of my own accord ;).

Yeah I started out with a writer in my legacy and I used stuff like that :) Not all the same but similar. I know it had couch potato. I didnt know over-emotinal was so useful then so I didn't use that. I'll try to remember when my brain is working.

over emotional gives a 25% boost. When you dont have it after you have used it for a while, it seems like all other moodlets were just so small.

I like the over-emotional and loves outdoors traits, you can get a good boost from these and any of my sims who work at home live without walls on a nice lot to boost them further.

;D I like the bookworm, computer whiz, couch potatoe, and Lucky. All the traits are really cool and what I like most is mixing them up to see what kind of sim turns out.

So true, Over Emotional is so addicting! :D
I never play without it now.

Loves the Outdoors is also great for a lot of Sims. A nice thing about WA is that sleeping in a tent counts as being outdoors. :)

I like the over-emotional trait also but get tired of hearing them cry or get "really" excited all the time.  ::)  I do like the loves the outdoors but really have to fight them to stay out of the sprinklers.  ::)

On the other hand, I love friendly and charismatic because of the ease which they can make friends.  I also kinda go overboard on the angler and green thumb traits even though they don't need these to be fisherpersons or gardeners.  :P

Since WA my favorite traits are brave and adventureous.  :D

I haven't tried the over-emotional trait yet. I've also discovered that it's just easier to play with single sims who don't have a family. No baggage to worry about when you're traveling. LOL My newest sim is my favorite so far.....she's awesome! She has the brave, photographer's eye, adventurous, bookworm, and lucky traits. Her lifetime wish is to be be well traveled. (I think that's what it's called) She has to complete 6 tombs in all three locations to get her lifetime wish. I've enjoyed taking this sim on adventures because she's so fearless. Just today, she got electrocuted 5 times in the blue room under the nectary and it didn't even phase her. LOL

I used to make all my Sims perfect family people like:
Family Oriented, Friendly, Hopeless Romantic, A Skill Trait, A Work Trait (Ambitious)

Then I tried another combination and found it was much better and how funnier the Sims became.

When I first start playing I usually gave my sims just "good" traits such as neat, ambitious, friendly, angler, and such.  But I've lately found out that I enjoy them more if they have some of "bad" ones as well.  It makes them seem more realistic.  And it can be interesting to see some of the wishes that come up.  "Brush teeth 3 times" was one that really took me off guard the first time.

About the only trait I stay away from these days is loser.  Hey, they're not losers, they're my sims!
