Resurecting sims from SavedSims file
« on: March 25, 2011, 12:26:40 PM »
Can someone pleaes help me? I've made today and yesterday a lot of sims which I need for an upcoming video but I've lost most of them from the bin. Although I've searched them up in the Electronic Arts file I didn't saw them (obviously) in the Export file. Though, they are named in the file SavedSims, as a .sim file so I'm still hoping I can get them back somehow.
Is it possible to resurrect these files back to original saved sims?

You can resurrect them, but with no skills, and relationships. For that, go to CAS, and click the button with various sims' shadows (left-bottom corner). You should see a list of different sims. The ones you need are marked with a * mark, and you can sort them by clicking the similar button. Find the necessary Sims, and create the family. Buy them a house and let the game start! :)

Thanks. I kind of figured it out myself already but now someone else with the same problem can learn something about this maybe.

I had sort of the same problem. Well, my generation 2 Dynasty spare had died, but I saved her to the bin earlier, so I could kinda 'resurrect' her in new game, even if she was dead at the time. Of course, she won't have any family tree relation to the original family, so it'd make no sense.

Yes, with families already played this is no option. But I had just made new sims in CAS so it was a problem to do it this way as there was no family tree at all.
