Family Oriented make spouse loyal?

I am playing a game with a single female Sim.  I am having trouble with try for baby.  So far all male Sims have been made by me, have the family oriented trait in common, and are in a relationship with a different Sim.  They were all best friends before they became romantic interests. The Sims accept her romantic interactions with the exception of woo hoo, try for baby, and embrace.  I know it is probably game mechanics but could it be the family oriented trait influencing the outcome of her final advances?  I finally succeed try for baby with a Sim that did not have that trait.  Which is why I am now wondering.

Are the males that your Sim tries for baby with in a relationship with someone else?  Meaning they would be cheating on their spouses?

Yes.  All 5 Sims had a spouse.  Four of them had the family oriented trait.  It was just plain weirdness that try for baby/woo hoo/embrace was always denied with the 4 Sims.  Until Billy Joe came along and accepted.

Did you try initiating Try for Baby directly from the bed?  Or did you always use the Romantic interactions to build up to it?

I only used romantic interactions with the first.  With each subsequent one I always started with the interactions, then from the bed.  Thinking back know, I don't remember if it was the red heart or the mutli-colored heart in the thought bubble when they were on the bed.  For Billy Joe it happened with romantic interactions only.

Well, I'd say it's entirely possible that the Family Oriented trait made the difference.  I guess a little cheating romance is ok as long as they don't have a child from it!

When a family oriented sim has a spouse, it usually raises the threshold at which all romantic interactions from other sims are accepted.  To get them to try for a baby, not only does their long term relationship have to be very close to max, but they have to be in an exceptionally good mood. 

A nice way to do it is to find out what the sim's day off is, and plan a day of it, starting after he gets off work on the day before.  Invite him over and get him to stay the night, then spend the rest of the night doing something fun.  Don't forget to cook something if he gets hungry (it's easier to cook before he gets there, and just take it out of the fridge as needed).  Feed him the next morning when he wakes up, and allow him to use the bathroom and to shower.  Once he gets all of his needs taken care of, he'll be more apt to accept.

Or...you could just buy the Master of Seduction LTR.  With that, you can successfully try for a baby with complete strangers if you have access to a bed.
