In the Sims 2, there were tooltips: hovering over a hair, skin or pattern would cause a little box to appear giving details, like the name of the item. I miss this in The Sims 3, especially when looking at tiny little swatches and trying to work out which pattern is which. I know that all the patterns have names and descriptions but I can't work out how to make either appear. Likewise, in my Sim Bin, I have sims that have names and descriptions but, again, I can't work out how to display this information. (Short of actually loading the sim and getting it to stand in front of the mirror and then checking all the details.)
So, if there are there tooltips in The Sims 3, please will someone put me out of misery and tell me how to enable them?
I've tried searching on-line for help, in case it is just a simple of matter of typing in a cheat code or setting something in Options, or pressing a button that I haven't noticed, but have had no luck in finding an answer.
Please have any of you, any idea? I'd be extremely grateful.
