Can't get boyfriend

    My female sim has known a male sim her entire young adult life.  They hang out everyday and are classified as "romantic interests".  There are no interactions between them that would allow them to be more than that or even have him move in.  Is my game messed up or am I missing something?

Welcome to the forum, storymwen.  If you want to take a relationship to the next level of going steady, getting married, or moving in, it just takes more romantic interactions between your sim and her beau.  Some sims are more receptive than others, depending on their traits (Commitment Issues sims can be quite a challenge) - but if you keep at it, eventually the options should come up.

Hi stormywen, there are a couple ways you can progress forward. So first to move him in you can go via the non-romantic interest way, which is to queue up a bunch of friendly interactions until the relationship bar is high and then the option to ask them to move in will pop up. To get him to move in via the romantic route then it is only through mariage. To get that to happen you need to queue up the romantic interactions until their relationship bar is quite high and they say that they are feeling irresistable towards you. So, if you are only romantic interests you should then get the option to ask him to go steady. After he has accepted that option repeat again so that the option of propose marriage appears. If he accepts the proposal then you can either have a private wedding or a wedding party.

However if he won't go past romantic interest it could be a couple things. Either it's a glitch, or he already has a girlfriend/boyfriend. The game only alows one steady girlfriend/boyfriend at a time. If this is the case you then need to ask him to break up with his girlfriend/boyfriend before your sim can ask him to go steady.

Thank you for all your responses.  I finally started paying attention to the bar that tells me what the other sim thinks of my sim and then it all started to make sense!  My sim finally has a husband!
