Vampire UV
« on: February 19, 2011, 06:24:38 PM »
I have no idea what it means when it says to get the vampire to the UV quickly. Can someone please tell me what it means? My sim keeps dying from too much sun and he's inside the house when he dies or burns I should say.

UV basically means Sunlight. IT is sometimes called UV Rays, UV stands for Ultra Violtet. So what it means is for your Sim to go back inside. Being out int he Sunlight can drain your Vampires Powers and needs quite quickly so they may have got a really low Thirst and died from that. I don't think Vampires die from sunlight in Sims 3. I'm not 100% sure though.

Well, He was inside when he died and thirst was full. I didn't save the game when he died just started again made sure he was green, feed, washed, empty blatter, etc but he still woke up and burned turning to ashes. Not sure what I can to stop it from happening again.

Were there windows into the room he was sleeping in? Maybe get rid of any windows, that might work.

First thing to do is check to make sure you're roof is on correctly.  If he's in the house and still suffering, then this is likely the problem.  And just in case, go up one level (if there's not another floor up there already) and cover the rooms with the free floor tiles, just to be safe.

A vampire can stay in sunlight for a maximum of 3 hours.  But when you exceed that, you have serious problems.  First thing, you will pass out where you're standing, and your thirst will plummet.  You won't be out long, but when you come to, he's going to have a vicious -50 moodlet called "Too Much Sun," and will probably need to see to his thirst immediately.  It lasts 2 days (so long as you don't go back out in the sun at all), and while it persists his thirst will constantly decrease at an extremely rapid pace.  During this time, you have to watch him extremely carefully, because the instant his thirst hits 0, he will die.  From my only experience with it, this need to constantly drink plasma juice will not permit him to get a full night's (or day's) sleep.  It just falls too quickly.

And windows block sunlight, even without curtains.

ok. I got it. Thank you.

Finally got him to survive and not go outside. Maybe once I have all this down i'll try out making a family legacy. I have been playing The sims for a long time now but not yet have the hang of it but loving it the more I play.

Thanks again.
