Question about maid's/fireman's hidden traits

While I know that having a baby with these npc's can pass some hidden traits on, I was wondering:  can you retain this possibility if you move them into the household?

If you move an NPC into your household they are no longer employed, but I had one Sim that married a male maid and none of their children made messes even when they were not given the neat trait. 

With the introduction of Ambitions, it is now possible to play your own fireman and the children do sometimes inherit that hidden trait.  It may even skip a generation as my fireman's three sons didn't inherit the pyromaniac trait but one of his grandsons did. 

Since these are hidden traits, it may be random whether the trait is inherited or not.  Hope this helps.

Although, as long as I've had Ambitions, I didn't realize that profession firemen passed along those traits.  Very interesting, indeed.

You need to reach the top of the career (fireman) to have a chance to gain these 2 hidden traits. If you don't mind cheating, enable testing cheats and drag the work progression bar fully 10 times if you're at level 1. In the last promotion's description you'll be informed that you have the corresponding ability.

There is a change they remain their hidden trait after moving in. It's a matter of luck I guess, for as long you could say such a thing about logic algoritms.
Mine did pass on his hidden pyro trait after joining the family. This was months before Late Night though. May could that something has changed this.
