No one shows up at parties
« on: January 31, 2011, 01:05:31 PM »
Ok I have had parties for my sims in my immortal dynasty, birthdays and a wedding, and no one shows up for them. Does anyone know what causes this? >:(

Nobody at all turned up?  Ouch.  I've never had that happen.  If the sim throwing the party has the Legendary Host LTR, everybody should show up even if it's their work hours.  I think it must be a glitch in your game, and can only suggest quitting the game and restarting.  Maybe people with more experience in having parties will have other suggestions.

If you sim is a celebrity, make sure the guests aren't locked outside the gate or something.

Most of them are celebs. They all have the legendary host and no one shows up. I don't have a gate ...

It could also be that if you do them during the weekdays and during the day most of your sims are at work so therefore they can't go to your party.

The Legendary Host lifetime reward is supposed to make everyone show up at the party, even if they're working or at school.

I've had a couple of parties recently where nobody showed up.  I got the message about it and it said something about "how sad" or something similar.  I thought it was just a thing that happens if you don't have the Legendary Host reward.

@sdhoey:  Do you get a message that nobody is going to show up?  Or does the time for the party come and go with nothing happening and no notifications?

That messege comes at the end of the party. "Looks like no one is coming, so sad'', BUT i did find my culprit. I had a m   o  d  that was for a longer party and more guests, guess it has the opposite effect, I thought I had taken it out for the Dynasty, but must have over looked it. It was in with my "hair styles"

Do you have a bunch of Sims that are stuck on a lot somewhere?  This has been happening to me also, but my reason is they are stuck on a lot.  When their stuck they don't go to work, no mixologists, no bouncers, empty clubs, invite to parties and the Sim throwing the party is not home.  When I have had parties I invite as many as possible and if I'm lucky a couple that I invite will show up if they are not the ones stuck.

That's the problem with using Mods, they don't always do what they say they will do and so it is best to just keep your game clean and safe. Try removing the mod and then see if there is any difference? If anything is wrong it is most likely that Mod. Or by that post do you mean your problem is fixed?

In my current game I just threw two parties in a row - no mods in.  The first one no one showed up and I got the 'so sad' message.  The second one was a great party and everyone showed up.  Two different sims on the lot threw the parties, but neither one had the Legendary Host reward so I'm not sure what made the difference.

When did you set up the party? It might have been that it was before the Work Shift started that you sent the Invitations but by the time the party came up they were at work or had to go?
