"A Young Man's Fancy Turns to Thoughts of ..."

Romance!  Osvaldo may be a musical guy who likes to make the bed and watch movies, especially comedies; and ok, he does take his sword in the shower with him - but he is not stupid.  He knows why he's been asked to join the household.  Too many women.  Women needing men.  Osvaldo is here to bring pleasure to a certain special lady.  And to paint, of course.  And, since Malrok is the one who asked him to move in, it seems obvious to Osvaldo that Malrok must be attracted to him.  He immediately starts popping wishes to flirt with Malrok and kiss her.

Down, boy!  Strap on your sword and go take a cold shower.  She's not the one.
Osvaldo:  Not Malrok?  You don't mean ... surely not Atauserk?  The scary dame with the wrench?
Relax, Oz.  It's Sitamat.  I know she seems a little young at present, but it wasn't that long ago that you were at school together, remember?  Just wait till she has her birthday, you'll see.  Now hie thee to thy easel!
Osvaldo:  'Hie?'  Huh?
Just practicing for Sims Medieval, Oz.  Run along, your easel awaits.

A few days later, Sitamat's birthday arrives.  As the celebration begins, Osvaldo seems quite bored:

But notice how he perks up and his expression changes when he sees Sitamat all grown up:

So how about it, Ozzie - aren't you glad I made you wait?
Osvaldo:  Yeah, yeah, go away already!  Where is she?  Love of my life, where have you gone?
Relax, Oz - she'll be right back after a quick visit to Create-a-Sim.  Trust me, the universe is definitely unfolding as it should.

Sitamat will likely have a different look before long, but for now she's keeping the long hair.

Osvaldo:  My dear Sitamat, it cannot have excaped your notice that for some time past the friendship I have felt for you has ripened into a deeper feeling.  A feeling more beautiful, more pure, more sacred.  Dare I name it?  Can it be love?

Sitamat:  Why, Rhett ... I mean, Osvaldo!
Osvaldo:  This is an honourable proposal of marriage made at what I consider a most opportune moment.

Sitamat:  I accept!

Later ...

Osvaldo:  Oh yes, this was definitely worth waiting for!  Be gentle with me, girl ...

There is great joy and celebrating in the Otokrak dynasty at the news that Generation 4 has found her mate.  Perhaps we'll even have a proper wedding instead of one of those impromptu affairs where the happy couple get hitched standing beside the toilet or the garbage bin, a la Clan Douglas.  Otis is particularly pleased - a new painter?  Maybe I'll finally be able to get away from that easel and go fishing!

"Will there be a Wedding?"

Osvaldo is eager to get married - immediately after the engagement, he pops a wish to marry Sit.  Fulfilling this wish would give him 5000 happiness points, but I'm hoping Sit will also get this wish so the wedding is on hold.  Days pass.  This gives Osvaldo time to think about his place in the household.  He learns that being a dynasty spouse isn't all fun and games:

For a Neat sim, he certainly likes to complain about the dishes.  I thought Neat sims enjoyed cleaning.

Meantime, Sit asks her parents for advice about marriage.

Ping takes this opportunity to praise Otis, who beams with pleasure.

Otis tells his daughter exactly how he feels about her mother.

Sit's parents seem to have completely forgotten about her.  She looks away in embarrassment as they start getting all lovey-dovey.

But her parents' demonstration of their wedded bliss apparently convinces Sit that marriage is a good thing, as she finally wishes to marry Osvaldo.  The wedding is on!  Happiness all round.

"The Wedding"

Okay, no getting married beside the toilet or the garbage bin.  We are going to have a proper wedding.   Here is the family dancing together as they wait for their guests to arrive:

They gather for the ceremony:

The guests are all relatives of the family:  Otis's family, Osvaldo's relatives, Ping's half-sister:

The party started at noon and continues until late in the evening.  Ping pulls out her guitar to play the stragglers off the lot.  I think this guy is her nephew:

Finally, it's over.  Everyone's tired but happy.

Really, the color themed wedding looked wonderful!  I like making clothes, but I'm sure not making matching formals for a wedding, great job, totally worth the effort!

Your first story was the first one I read, that lead me to Pam's, and the to join the forum and start my own.  So truly, you are doing super duper awesome, just wanted to mention that :)

Thanks for the comments, Rachel and Juxtaposition.   Juxtaposition, making everything a similar colour really wasn't hard.  And after the Clan Douglas weddings that always seemed to take place beside the toilet or the garbage can, I needed to redeem myself!   ;D

"Bookworm - a Self-Diagnostic Quiz"

In the General Discussion section of this forum, there is a thread asking what traits people most identify with.  One of the most claimed traits among forum members is "Bookworm."  I've never responded to that thread, mainly because honesty would compel me to admit to a bunch of negative traits that I'd rather not publicize.  But I've been called Bookworm for as long as I can remember.  And I've always wondered why someone who likes to read is a Bookworm.  After all, do carpenters get called Woodworm?  Is a tailor an Inchworm?  And I've never heard a gardener called an Earthworm.  Anyway, Bookworm has been a very useful trait in my dynasties.  I find it much easier to keep Bookworm Immortals occupied and away from someone else's Supermax skill.  Because when you're a Bookworm, you'd rather read than do pretty much anything else.  Right?  So here are a few random shots of the Otokrak ladies demonstrating their Bookworminess.

1.  You know you're a Bookworm if you can ignore dirty, smelly dishes because you're engrossed in your book.

2.  You know you're a Bookworm if you can carry on reading when the scary lady is waving her wrench around in front of you.

3.  You know you're a Bookworm if you're tired and the dishes are unwashed and you just can't put down your book.

4.  You know you're a Bookworm if you just can't put down your book to eat and wind up with food on you.

5.  You know you're a Bookworm if you've just been burglarized and you take your book to bed to keep the police officer from picking it up and maybe taking it home to read.

6.  You know you're a Bookworm if the best way you can think of to show off your new hairdo and dress is to model them while working on your latest novel by lamplight.  Actually, this picture is just to show Sitamat's jazzy new look.

Twenty-three skidoo!

Hmmm, looks like I need to go back and edit my post in that thread! Compared to the Otokrak ladies I am definitely not a Bookworm!

That was pretty funny.  I know I am not a bookworm, I can't sit still long enough.  I got that hairdo too, I have not seen what it looks like on my sims yet, but on your sim, it looks really good. :)
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?
