CC Magic crashing on Windows 11
« on: January 20, 2023, 08:54:13 PM »
I just upgraded to a new PC that's running Windows 11 and has much better specs than my old rig. On my old PC, CC Magic worked perfectly. I'm working through transferring everything over to the new PC and CC Magic will open for about 3 seconds then close.

The log says " Fatal | [CCMagic.App] -- Unhandled ExceptionSystem.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SQLite.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found. File name: 'System.Data.SQLite.dll' "

Now I know this is normally due to not installing one of the 3 required files on the download page, however when I go to download those files my computer says I cannot install them due to the fact that a newer version of said applications are already installed.

I've been looking for 2 days now for a solution to no avail. Tried multiple reinstalls, deleting all the CC, tried to install the Windows C++ thing linked on the download page but It just keeps throwing the same error. Is it because it runs on older software?

If the full error log is needed, let me know and I'll get that pasted in but I see a bunch of people with this problem and they just have to install the Windows C++, but I've already got all that.

Could it just be incompatible with Windows 11?

I just want my beautiful Sims back! SOS! TY in advance!

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with CC Magic.  It is an older tool that is not supported by it's creator, so it may not be fully compatible with Windows 11. I'm not sure. You may need to see if there's any information in the comments of it's ModtheSims page.

Or maybe ask at the official Sims forum answers.ea or maybe even Nraas.
