Unlucky Chef by EA
« on: May 22, 2022, 02:48:35 PM »
Hi, I like doing some of the scenarios that EA designs. This time, I accepted the "Unlucky Chef" scenario. The requirement is to create a YA or Adult and have them max the Culinary career either by becoming either a Celebrity Chef or a Celebrity Mixologist (the safer one). This is supposed to be a hard scenario to do so I created a sim that I named Othello ((Unlucky) look up the story of Othello and you'll see why I named him that, except no love story or anything to do w/it involved) and made him Gloomy, Erratic, Clumsy, w/the Essence of Flavor traits. The first attempt failed w/him killing himself in a stove fire at lev 3 of the career. Take 2 - I created a roomie for him and on the second day after that, he started another fire trying to cook and she extinguished him immediately. I think I must have replaced the stove and counter next to it 3 times now, lol. No unsupervised cooking!!

So far so good. He's made it to lev 6, Chef now. There was one day when he burnt the stove and counter 2 times in one day! Hi poor roomie (Annika) had to extinguish him twice! I can just hear her saying now "whatever am I to do w/the clumsiness of this roommate??? He's a disaster in the making!! We'll be lucky if he doesn't burn the house down one of these days! Of ALL careers, why ever in the world did he choose to be a chef???" He is making slow progress though. :) Hi roomie is a good source for social which is good.

Well, he has set the stove on fire so many times and his poor roomie has to get up in the middle of her night to extinguish him that I'm having him prepare non-cook dishes, lol Yogurt, salads, and such...

Lol!
I imagine you're too busy managing the fires to get an action screenshot! Poor Othello. I think I'd move out if I was his housemate.

Sure! Next time he starts a fire, I'll get a screenie.

Edit: I found out something neat though. With him being "gloomy," he is sad much of the time and wants to go to bed to "cry it out." I clicked on the phone once when this happened and there is an option to "call sadness hotline."  When he calls that up, he's good again.

Here you go Granny as well as others who want to see this. Lots of pics. This is the worst I've seen it. Usually, she jumps out of bed, races to the kitchen and extinguishes him, but not this time!

Roomie jumps out of bed and then into the fire and catches fire herself!

After extinguishing herself, she then proceeds to watch him burn to death

Othello Dies

and Grim comes to harvest Othello

The fire quickly spreads to the entire house and outside

Grim then sticks around for a little while to do some research on the comp while the fire continues to blaze

She finally calls the fire dept and they watch the fire outside

and then fine her for a "prank"

By this time it was morning and time for her to go to work. She comes home from work totally exhausted

This is the aftermath of the fire. The only reason she survived is b/c she extinguished herself twice but would not extinguish him. Revenge?

Edit: I quit w/o saving. From this point on, I'm going to just have him make yogurt, salads, and blt's. No more fires!

That's a wonderful set of pics! Poor Othello and poor roomie.

I'm a bit concerned about the abilities of the fire department if they can look at that mess and think it's a prank! Lol!

I finally finished the scenario. As I said, I would not let him cook another meal on the stove, lol. He completed his assignments by making yogurt and salads. I don't have any screenshots atm b/c I'm on my laptop I just figured out how to transfer the game from one comp to the other) which doesn't have the tool (yet). I'll post the screenies when I get the tool on this comp. My main comp will be going into the shop for repair next week.

Hi everybody, I still do not have a screenshot program on this comp (my laptop), but am working on it.

In the story, Othello finally reached the top of his career. He only needs to give a dinner party and get a silver star to complete his ltw. In the story, Annika was getting very lonely and frustrated that he just was not looking at her romantically. She is romantically inclined and gets very lonely if she doesn't get it. Othello started wondering why she was so down and depressed and she confided in him that she had done soooo very much for him, putting out all of the fires he started and one time even endangered her own life! He started thinking about it and how much she really did care for him. He took some courses to learn how to overcome his clumsiness and grumpiness thinking that the whole world was after him. Now he can actually do some real cooking and not just make salads. "I guess I just got so caught up in my career that I didn't think of anything else" Othello said. "I'm so very sorry! You are a remarkable woman though. I don't know of anybody else who would stick by me, putting the fires out time and time again. I owe you my life!" Annika replied, would you consider marrying me?"  "I do love you." "YES!!" Othello exclaimed!
They were married in a very simple ceremony. He took on her name b/c he really didn't like his. "I have no idea whatever in the world the watcher was thinking when she named me Simmer!! Othello is bad enough!"

I gave them a jukebox and a very high quality bar to prepare drinks for the guests. I also have him meeting other neighbors in the town so he can have a few guests at his dinner party. Their net worth is a little over $98k now. I'll be moving them to a much larger lot soon. She is at lev 9 business now and only needs to max her charisma skill to get the last promotion.

I still dabble a little here and there w/Othello and Annika. They now have 2 children. Their first child is Bettina who is going to be a teen in a day or so:

and

and their second child is Noah who is still a toddler.

I had just bought Seasons and it seems as though Othello continued his bad luck. I suddenly got the msg that he had died from the heat! I knew that a sim would get too hot if outside, but inside??? I never expected that. I now have the option checked that weather or temperature does not affect sims. I finally found his urn in Annika's personal inventory and put it out and then added him to the family. I had to get them re-married though. Unfortunately, they were not able to try for a baby while he was in ghost form. It took a bit of work - I had to get his fishing skill up and then take him over to Willow Creek in front of Oakenstead and had him fish for an angelfish. He had more than enough aspiration reward points to buy the youth potion. I was finally able to bring him back, adjusted both of their ages, and had them try for another baby. That is where Noah comes in. Both Othello and Annika will probably be elders before Noah becomes a YA. More pics to follow when Bettina becomes a teen and Noah becomes a child. I have to say though, that Noah is already learning his skills much faster than Bettina did. Maybe b/c of the "Charmer" aspiration?

Bettina and Noah finally aged up. I gave Bettina the Musical Genius aspiration. She is leveling up in violin and so far has a part time job in music. I'm kind of thinking about putting her in university to study music. We'll see what happens. It's looking like Noah is a spitting image of his dad! So far, Noah's childhood aspiration is Rambunctious Scamp.

I forgot to mention that Annika changed careers and is now  a Gardener. The nice thing about this one is that she gets to do one assignment for work while at home. The rest of the time is hers. :)
