My sim has a secret husband.

This is kind of funny. My sim took a trip to China looking for some red assassin bugs, and I didn't really pay her much attention while I was waiting for them to show up on the map. Somewhere she met some guy named (something something) Phua... and now she's back home I noticed that her last name had changed from Steel (she's Christopher Steel's widow) to Phua. Imagine my astonishment when I discovered that now she has a secret paralel family with a husband and even a step-son named Jinjing! And she's not even in love with the guy!

Anyone had this happen in their game? it's kind of cool actually. Maybe she thinks her official family wouldn't approve  .

I had this happen to a female Sim of mine with a guy from France - Francios Lambert - without even so much as a hug, she apparently had a son with this guy! I just think it's funny.

This bug has been around for quite some time and kinda gets annoying after a while.  I think all of us have experienced this same thing.  I had a sim that it happened too and had to go down and change her name back at city hall.  I doubt they will ever fix it though.  I was trying to find the thread we have on here about that same thing.  It is somewhere, if I find it, will post it.

Really? I had no idea this bug existed. I knew about the other W-bugs like the one that mkes the family disappear and such but I hadn't herd about this one. For now it's just kind of funny though. I went back to China and there's not even  Phua home so I guess he's an NPC or something. And what's even weirder is that both the father and the son in China... don't appear in her relationships panel (or whatever it's called)!!

I guess I've been lucky because I've been playing WA since it came out and never had this bug. It's funny for now but I don't doubt it could get very annoying if I had this happening all the time.

To be fair, this bug is really easy to remedy. Just call the husband over (will take a while until he gets there), and use Mean interactions until you can divorce. Optional: move to new neighborhood if possible, so that the relationship panel resets as if this whole thing never happened.

Yes, this bug is the main reason I don't let my Sims travel anymore.

Actually I can't do that because the secret husband kind of... doesn't exist. I mean, he appears in the family tree but not in my sim's relationships panel. I guess I will have to change her name at the city hall as Saltypaws said.

You can try to find the guy, or maybe just move to a new neighborhood and hope your sim is no longer married.

Yeah... can't do that either, it's my Immortal Dynasty household. It'd probably be the best way though.
