Frequent Spider Atacks
« on: December 15, 2021, 10:14:01 PM »
Hi
I am building a botanical garden on the ship wreck lot in Sulani. Doing area that are themed around packs.

Since I did the Jungle Adventure area my sims are under attack from everything from Sulani, spiders, plasma bats, bees, electric bugs. It has made it unplayable.
Does anyone know of a mod that can turn these off or does anyone know what specifically triggers these attacks? I have used a lot of plants from Jungle Adventure as they are quite nice.
Hoping someone may be able to help

My sims have lived on that Admiral's wreckage lots for weeks without a single insect attack.
Have you checked your lot challenges?
It sounds to me that you have selected the Creepy Crawlies lot challenge.

What Oshizu said, the only thing that should be causing JA creature attacks would be Creepy Crawlies.  And even with that, I've never seen it get excessive.  Unless, perhaps, one or more of your sims brought a curse home from the jungle.  I'm not sure what all the curses are, maybe there's one that makes you get attacked a lot.  So, check your sims moodlets.
Very cool lot though!

Oh, and um... check your messages.  I bet you're going to hear from a moderator.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Creepy Crawlies, no. The lot traits (if that is what you mean) are Great Soil, Island Spirits and Bracing Breezes.

There are no curses, none of the sims have even been to Selvadorada.
I have had a maid and an Eco inspector burn to death from the fire bugs as there was no one around to put them out.

It certainly started after I added debug items from JA.

My aim is to build a lot with every harvestable in perfect state and every other plant I can find all in one lot. It is a fun challenge and very pretty to look around, also would be a handy asset for the community if you could go to Sulani and pick up some perfect Merry Berries or maybe a few Death Flowers.

The crawly thing could included in the JA DEBUG items. Temple items etc.

That is what I am thinking. I have added so many plants and objects from JA as they are really nice looking.
I have a test save where I am removing items one by one to see what happens. Nothing has helped so far.

It might be a debug item as sdhoey suggests.
But it might also be the Creepy Crawlies "lot challenge," which differs from the a "lot trait."  When you look at your lot traits, click the golden trophy icon to see if you've set any lot challenges.
If you started your lot from a much simpler lot built by someone else, you might have inadvertently also acquired the Creepy Crawlies lot challenge selected by that creator.

OK, thanks for that clarification. I was not aware of "Lot Challenge". I initially had a house on the lot before I decided to do the botanical garden. This was a house straight out of my library so I suppose that is possible. It would be nice if it was that easy.

I will check it when I get home this evening.

One thing I see is that you have an actual trap mechanism.  Are sims stepping on it?  Because if you fail at attempting a mechanism, bad things happen.  There's also the 3 skellington trap, but that's clearly out of reach and no one should be able to trigger that.

Upon closer inspection, I see 3 temple traps that are within reach.  I bet your sims are messing with them.  The square platform, that you are supposed to step on while in the correct mood, the Charisma trap that requires a joke or something, and the Fitness trap.  There's the Handiness trap as well, although I don't think sims will be able to mess with it up there.

Ok, definitely 2 traps within reach, one thing that I can't tell if it's a trap or a chest, and 2 traps that "should" be safe because they're out of reach:

So I have no Lot Challenge.
I am obviously playing an older version of the game.

Thanks for your input.

No my sims are not stepping on the Emotional Platform.
There are 7 sims in this save, 4 of them are mermaids who pretty much spend their whole life swimming in the tropical ocean, the others are Vampires and tend to hang in the basement dwelling unless I tell them to tend plants.

All of the items you have circled, except one, have been deleted in my test save and it has not made any difference. The Emotional Plate has not been deleted, I will do that next.

Most right circle is a Rare Omiscan Treasure Chest and on top of it is a Serfer Hematite Gold Perereca

Hmm.  If it was the traps, I would think your sims would actually have to mess with them to have anything happen to them.
I bet this is going to come down to one specific debug item.  Have you got any jungle archways on the lot?  The ones that, in the jungle, you have to hack through the vines to get to a new area.  That's the next culprit I would look for.
It's going to end up being one item, that, if it's present, this lot is the jungle.  Because it's there, "You're in the jungle, baby!  You're gonna die!"

Lol yeah I love a mystery, when it's something I know a bit about.  I do hope OP comes back and tells us what object was doing this!
