Why are my plants and trees brown of color?
« on: December 21, 2021, 05:23:12 AM »
Hey all.

My plants and trees are brown of color when i place em.
Im in the first day of spring, and it says that the temperature is cold.
Does this mean that, like in real life, my trees and plants go in bloom, and then after become more green?
And if yes, do i need to tend to them myself, or via a gardener?

Or is it simply a bug?

Thanks in advance :)

It's a bug, plants aren't turning green when they ought to.  They should be healthy and produce the way they should, they just don't look as nice as they're supposed to.
"Hire a gardener" will do the same things you can do yourself.  It's just an option you can choose, for example maybe you have a big garden and your sim needs to go to work.  The hired gardener will take care of whatever watering, weeding, and bug spraying that needs to be done-- all things you can do yourself, but maybe you don't have time.  Also, buying Patchy the Scarecrow will basically be like having a live-in gardener.  Once you do some interactions with him, he will start coming to life every day.  He hangs out with your household and is a bit of a nuisance sometimes, but he will also go take care of your garden for you.

Also, if you mean like decorative trees like you can find in the build menu, yes those will turn green gradually.
Hope this helped!
they/he pronouns please!

I meant the trees/plants/bushes that come from the build mode indeed.
The plants that are bought from buy mode are how they are supposed to be.
But i will let it play out, and see if in the summer, the plants/trees/bushes are no more brown of color, but green instead.

So as Auranaris says, i have to wait untill they turn green?

Oh, okay I thought you meant the garden plants.  Yes, they change with the seasons, and should turn green for you as Spring progresses.  In Fall, depending on the tree of course, they will change color and drop leaves on the ground, and they will be bare in Winter.
There are no gardening interactions for those types of plants.  Spellcasters can set them on fire if they want, and there's a special bush your sims can pee in, and that's all those trees and plants do.

So for the plants/trees/bushes that come from build mode, they change over time for seasons, and for the flower section in build mode, they have to taken care of?

No, if it came from build mode, it's just a decorative object and no care is needed.  Things that you plant in-game do grow, do need to be cared for, and will produce fruit, vegetables, or flowers.  If you click on something from build mode, you'll see that either nothing at all comes up, or just the option to set it on fire if you're a spellcaster.  Something that you planted in Live mode however, will give a number of options.
