Problems with the Sims 3
« on: October 01, 2011, 09:37:52 PM »
??? My current sim is in the stylist profession and if she gets 3 jobs she'll only be able to do 2.  So the first job I get, I'll click perform job and everything will be fine and I'll style the sim.  But then usually the second time I click perform job and it instantly disappears and I no longer can perform job at that house. Then usually the 3rd time I can successfully style the sim.  And I swear this happens every single time and it's so frustrating. Oh and a week ago I created another sim and the athletic skill will not go up.  Even trying to get level 1 in athletic would take hours, and this has never happened to me before.  And last thing I can't take pictures on any camera for my sims to be a photographer.  I'll take a picture with their camera and then the action never goes away and I have to force quit every single time.  I know these are a lot of problems but if anyone has any ideas to fix any of them please help me. :) Oh and I'm on a Mac Laptop, I don't know if that relates to anything. If anyone answers, thank you so much!       :)

Well, the camera one has been a known glitch for quite some time.  Instead of quitting, you can just do the "resetsim, simsname" and the icon will go away.  I haven't done the photographer in quite some time, so not quite sure why that would be happening.  With the athletic skill, sometimes I have a problem and then sometimes it will be fine.  I know this did not help much, but I don't think you are the only one these things happen to.  Some people have problems and some don't. :)

Cancel all ops in the family if you're gonna be a photographer.
For athletic it takes a long time in any skill to get the first level longer than any of the other levels take.

@Saltypaws I'm going to try out all of your suggestions right away and hopefully they'll work! I didn't know about the resetsim thing so I'm going to try that :) Thank you so much! :)
@Sportsfan I've had many people in the athletic field and usually for them to get to level 1 it takes about 3 hours or so.  But now after I bought stuff from the Sims 3 I worked her out for over 15 hours on the treadmill and she's barely halfway to level 1 :( I saw someone else with the same problem, but I guess EA hasn't come up with a patch for it yet. I'm going to try your suggestion for the photographer, so thanks so much :)

For the problems with the athletic skill. Do your sim use the gym? There was a bug that the skill don't rise in the gym. It happen to my sim. I just let him workout at home :)

Try sending your Sim to the athletic class at the stadium to get that first athletic point. As for the camera, don't click to take a picture unless there's a caption underneath the picture. For example, if you're pointing the camera at someone, it should say "A Sim in the area" or "Family member."
