Sims and Their Choice of Clothes
« on: March 11, 2021, 12:21:17 PM »
When sims choose their outerwear, in particular.

Dear sims, that cute little sweater you picked is so not going to keep you warm in a raging blizzard!

Well, technically, it is because the sweater is tagged as outerwear. But that's totally beside the point!

Point being that I feel The Sims 3 can easily rival The Sims 4 when it comes to autonomous wardrobe choices.

My big pet peeve is the automatic gloves! It didn't phase me until I was doing a photoshoot during what I imagined to be mild spring weather and gave both sims involved outerwear without gloves. I got out of CAS and they had ugly random gloves. Yes there is a tried and tested mod for this but I'm not ready to add more exceptions to the dynasty-approved mod list (it doesn't seem like my place? But who else will review it if not me?) so here I am complaining. :P

Otherwise I kind of like having options for varying degrees of coldness, not so much how it's all set for random but oh well. Some worlds can be imagined to be more mild than others, in the same way that I can get away with wearing a hoodie during the winter where I live but couldn't do that in Central Canada.

Oh, the gloves!

Usually, sims in my games choose not proper outerwear gloves, but gloves to be used with a gown of some sort - like the gothic one, for example.

But I guess gloves are gloves ::)

And I agree. Sometimes I disable snow, or set the temperature manually to warmer. Then it's quite okay that sims don't walk around with a full astronaut suit ;)

My "favorite" is the CC nail polish I have that's categorized as gloves (good!), outerwear (fine!), and random (no). I really should just edit the package for it.
