 i  forgot to ask, is it possible to just use all clothing from the sims resource instead of the clothing that comes with the sims 3? i have downloaded tons of clothes and hair but the majority of them do not show in the launcher.   thanks guys

Yes, it is possible to use all custom content from TSR (The Sims Resource) if you so choose.

Depending on what type of file the custom content is:

.Sims3pack files need to be copied into the downloads folder and installed via the launcher > Downloads tab.

.package files need to be copied into the mods folder. These files will not show up in the Sims 3 launcher, but should be viewable in game.
