Inventory Problems
« on: May 05, 2020, 12:27:42 PM »
Has anyone made an inventory manager?  I've got hundreds of produce stuck in my Sims inventory.  For example one Sim has 714 carrots.  I cannot move them to the fridge; it makes the game crash.  I don't want  to chose to place in world 714 times.  I want to get rid of all the produce so that my game doesn't come to a screeching halt every time I go in their inventory.

Also do fish go bad while in inventory?

Hey @owlsight, what game is this for? Both for information and so I can move it to the right section.

Hi owlsight, if you are in the sims 4 you can sell instead of harvesting if it gets to be too much in your inventory. The fridge unfortunately does not store produce or fish.

Fish can be stored in aquariums or fish bowls. Aquariums come in cats and dogs, and spa day and hold about 6 fish. Fish bowls come in base game and hold one. Whatever state of freshness a fish is in when it goes into a bowl or aquarium is the state it is in when it comes out. Please note that if you leave fish in a bowl or aquarium when you move houses the fish will disappear. The fish will go from excellent to fowl if left in the inventory and will only remain fresh if put in a bowl or aquarium. This will not mean you can't cook with the fish nor change the monetary value of the fish. It will simply reduce the boost to quality of the food that you get from using a fish as a fresh ingredient.

for general organization of the inventory I haven't discovered any better way other than using the Icya trunks from University. The trunks each have their own individual inventories so you can place root vegetables in one and fruit in another (as an example). You can even tag them with labels so that the title you give them comes up when your cursor is hovered over it. The trunks can then be placed in your inventory. A word of caution: when moving, adding or removing sims from your household you may loose access to the items in your icya trunk, its a bug.

@owlsight

Just stopping by to add that stacking more than 99 of anything in a sim's personal inventory or a household's family inventory cause the game to lag, stutter, freeze, crash, and other undesirable actions.
Do you have a huge garden? If yes, I would simply sell off those 99+ stacks from inventory. Click on the stack and sell it all at one time.
Good luck!

This question is for Sims 4.  I don't get the option to sell the produce when I click on them.  I tried the move objects cheat, and that will only work for one item at a time.  I didn't realize when this happened that I could sell the produce instead of putting it in the inventory. I also didn't realize I had quite so much produce.  I just want to get all of the produce out of their inventory so that my game won't lag when I go into their inventory.

Thanks very much for the information about the fish.

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

You won't get the option to sell by clicking.  You have to drag the stack into the space (left side of the inventory box).  When you drag I believe it highlights the box and tells you how much you will receive for selling.

The fridge will store both fish and produce. This Sim just has too many items to transfer.
