Can't fish

My male Sim caught a deathfish, but after that the fishing option disappeared.  I can't click on any of the ponds or bodies of water with him and make him fish, even though it still works for my female Sim!! Has anyone seen this before?

Yes, this happened to me, too. It was fine when I restarted the game. He could fish again no problem.

I just did and he still can't.

Since the problem seems to be connected to your Sim catching a Deathfish, if any Deathfish are still in your Sims Inventory, sell it all, restart, and then see if you're good.

I reverted to a previous save (fortunately only 20 minutes earlier this time), so it works now.

I had the same problem. It happened to me as I was trying to run a character up to make Ambrosia. I tried three different characters and all three got to a point where they couldn't fish any longer. Then I made a connection. All three had just put the Death Flower in their inventory.

So I loaded one of my games and had the Sim plant the flower, removing it from the inventory. She could fish again. So, at least in my case, it seems to be having the Death Flower in your possession.

I checked out the officials Sims 3 site, and it looks like this is a bug they're working on.  We'll probably have this fixed in the next patch.

Good to hear that EA is aware of the issue and its in the queue to be fixed.

I had an interesting twist on one of those sims that had the fishing bug. When i disposed of the Death Flower off of him, he could fish, but not using bait. To clear that up I ended up selling all the fish and other bait material out of my inventory.

Anyway all my sims can fish again.

Wow, this patch is gonna be a whopper with all the bugs that keep cropping up....moaaaan.  Gawd I hope it works...
