Girlfriend Quit Her Job When I Added Her To Household
« on: April 16, 2020, 08:22:01 AM »
Hey guys,

So my title pretty much says it all but basically I just recently downloaded the University DLC and I met a girl on campus that was a professor at the university. When it was time to ask her to move in after we started dating, as soon as she became a household member she suddenly had no job. There wasn't any notice that she quit or got fired or anything of the sort. Is that something that automatically happens or did something go wrong.

Also, I don't use mods is that helps.

TIA!

Welcome to the forum!
Yes, NPC's that are added to the household will often lose their jobs. Gardeners, gym trainers, mixologists, and apparently university professors become unemployed when you move them in. There really isn't anything you can do about it. If you put that Sim in the education profession, she'll probably have to start at level 1.

What happens is that when you go to a community lot, the game picks up Sims to serve in various roles appropriate to that lot. Sims living in a house who have a regular job will be exempt, but unemployed Sims, and Sims not in a house, won't. When you make those Sims playable, they lose their "jobs."
