Right now I am lucky and I have a sim that likes fruitcake. This is good as she was able to stock up on gourmet fruitcake to bribe fairies and eat while living in a dorm before sending her to collage. This is good as gourmet fruitcake doesn't spoil. Bad news is it is fattening, and most sims don't seem to like it. Is there any other food that doesn't spoil that my uni students can make at mom's and dad's that all my sims will like and maybe be less fattening to supplement microway and fresh fruit fare? Not spoiling is the key of what I am looking for.

Unless you have completed the Master Chef Aspiration then fruitcake is the only option in terms of a food that never spoils.

The Baking Skill (as opposed to homestyle cooking or gourmet cooking) will provide you with a longer timer on foods especially if you keep them in a fridge in your Sims room. I mixed fruitcake and baking skills foods and all of the foods lasted until the last day of a 3 week uni trip. I just simply took a few baked foods with my sim each time they went to one of the secret societies meetings and used those up first as gifts/offerings and then offered fruitcake if I needed to.

Thanks @Playalot I didn't realize baking skill items lasted for three weeks before spoiling in the fridge. My current sim likes fruitcake so she is golden, but future sims may not be so lucky. The no stove thing makes feeding students quality food a challenge. If I can prep by preparing meals and treats for pixies beforehand I can skip loading screens and have more time to study.
